Sensorless technology
Safety functions are provided through direct connection of the module to the ends of the motor windings, without additional sensors, thus maintaining maximum functional safety levels PL e and SIL 3.
Additional diagnostics
Connecting a proximity sensor to input I4 of the module enables further diagnostic information to be obtained, including:
- detection of the breakage of transmission belts or chains
- detection of situations of overload or rotor blockage
Version with OSSD safety outputs
CS AM modules with OSSD solid-state safety outputs have the benefit of occupying only 22.5 mm in the switching cabinet, rather than the 45 mm of relay versions.
Combined safety functions
CS AM 2• and CS AM 3• modules can combine certain functions:
- DUAL SPEED function: different speed thresholds can be set for the two different directions of rotation
- SPEED & ROTATION function: safety outputs are activated if the speed detected is below a set threshold and the direction of rotation is as expected
Two simultaneous safety functions
CS AM series modules are also available with:
- two independent OSSD solid-state safety outputs
- two independent pairs of safety relays
With these models, it is therefore possible to simultaneously create two different safety functions.
