Expansion modules

Pizzato’s CS ME modules are electromechanical devices designed as contact expansion modules for industrial safety circuits. They make it possible to increase the number of available safety contacts for the main modules, while maintaining high performance through redundancy, self-monitoring of channels, and compatibility with applications up to the highest safety levels of modern architectures.

Safety function of CS ME expansion modules

The safety function of CS ME series expansion modules replicates and expands the safety contacts controlled by the main module. If safety conditions are no longer met, the module must open its contacts within the specified interval, ensuring continuity of the safety chain. The function is to increase the switching capacity, while maintaining the requirements of the circuit upstream.

International standards

Performance level up to PL e in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1, Safety Integrity Level up to SIL 3 in accordance with EN IEC 62061/EN IEC 61508 and Safety Category up to 3 (in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1).

Output configurations

Output configurations vary from three to five instantaneous safety contacts and up to four NO delayed contacts with fixed or adjustable delay.

All modules have a maximum width of 45°mm, ensuring they are compact, modular and easily integrated into switching cabinets.
