Modules for emergency stop, monitoring of movable guards, safety mats and safety bumpers
These CS AR series safety modules feature a redundant and self-monitoring architecture (compliant with standards such as ISO 13849-1 and IEC 62061). This enables them to detect internal faults and prevent machine start-up.

Functioning of CS AR series safety modules
Pizzato CS AR series safety modules are electromechanical devices for industrial safety applications, designed to monitor industrial safety systems. With the option of a one or two-channel set-up, they are compatible with various application requirements, interfacing with both mechanical and electronic components.
Versatile monitoring with the CS AR series
Monitoring of the pressure of emergency-stop buttons on machines and production lines. When the button is pressed, the module cuts power to the actuators (motors, valves) in a safe and controlled manner.
Management of mechanical limit switches, safety switches and safety sensors. The module prevents start-up of the machine if the guards are not closed and triggers an instantaneous stop in the event of accidental opening during a cycle.
Compatibility with photoelectric barriers, laser scanners and solid-state sensors. The module processes the electronic safety signals, guaranteeing the integrity of the control loop.
Ability to monitor contactless safety devices, such as magnetic safety sensors on guards with high installation tolerance.
The modules are configured for management of pressure-sensitive devices, such as safety mats and safety bumpers. Using 4-wire technology, the modules can detect not only the pressure on the device (which stops the machine), but also any cutting or short circuiting of connection cables.
Ability to control up to four safety outputs for direct control of contactors, solenoid valves and interlock circuits.

Safety levels and configurations of CS AR safety modules
Performance level up to PL e in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1, Safety Integrity Level SIL 1 to SIL 3 in accordance with EN IEC 62061/EN IEC 61508 and Safety Categories 1 to 4 (in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1).
Output configurations vary from one to four safety contacts, for compatibility with different system architectures.
All modules have a maximum width of 22.5 mm, ensuring they are compact and easy to install even in switching cabinets with limited space.
The module supports three different start-up modes: automatic start-up with input reset, start-up only following operator acknowledgment, and start-up through operator acknowledgment with validation of start-contact release.
